Walkway installation using Stainless Steel BoxBolts
The Stainless Steel BoxBolt was selected as a retro-fit method for securing the bearing beam for a travelling walkway system to the roof structure of a train station in Scotland. The roof structure was designed and erected without the consideration of access required for maintainence purposes so a retro-fit walkway system was developed. The whole structure was stainless steel and the bearing bar supports needed to be installed to the top of the roof truss. The stainless steel BoxBolt provided a perfect solution because a hole could be drilled in the roof beam from the top side only and the support was then secured in place without having to have any access to the underside. As you can see from the application pictures the BoxBolts were installed with simple hand tools so no specialist equipment such as welding machines were required to make the connection.
